Mobile Phone Stolen from Six Star Liam
A mobile phone containing the numbers of Ireland's biggest pop stars has been stolen during Westlife's tour. The phone belonged to Liam from Six and was stolen from his hotel room.
The phone contained numbers for people like Samantha Mumba, the boys from Westlife and Louis Walsh. "I'm terrified that they're all going to kill me," said a frantic Liam, "I had around numbers on the phone. But nobody has received and weird messages so far. I left my room at about noon and it was gone when I got back at 3pm. I was going to the gym with Kyle and didn't want to look after it. The worst of it was I told Kyle he was an idiot for brining his with him." Poor Liam, who, last night, had his first free evening since the tour began can hopefully put the last few days behind him. "I have to ring my mother who probably thinks I've dropped off the face of the earth. Things have been so hectic."

Space ticket cost over $20 million
South African Mark Shuttleworth has paid more than $20 million for a ticket into space with a Russian rocket. Mark is the world's second space tourist. Last year American Dennis Tito flew on a Russian rocket to an international space station. The Soyuz TM 34 aircraft blasted off this morning, Thursday 25/4/02, at 10.26am Moscow time from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Central Asia, where the space age began. Sputnik, the world's first satellite lifted off from there in 1957, followed four years later by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who made the world's first manned flight.

Yesterday Mark said, "I has always hoped and believed that I could fly into space… It has been the greatest experience to have trained and worked to get to this point."

More good news for fans of the film comes from director Peter Jackson, who said that another 30 minutes of footage would be added to the DVD version of 'The Fellowship of the Ring'. Whispering makes Guinness Book of Records
Hundreds of students from Maryfield College, attempted to break the world record for the longest Chinese whisper. 557 Chinese whispers helped them to make history in the Guinness Book of Records all in the name of charity. It took just 22 minutes for the students to break the previous record of 270 whispers.

The whisper started off as 'They inherited the earth. Then the army came and scorched it'. At the end of the long chain of students the last whisper was ' Mayfield College'. The record breaker raised €1,000 for Amnesty International.

Special Olympics

The Bear Factory helps out the Special Olympics
The Bear Factory in Dublin is giving a helping hound to the Special Olympics with its Irish Wolfhound bears.

For every Irish Wolfhound bear the store sells it will donate half to the Special Olympics.
Simon Casey from You're a Star was in Stephens Green to promote the sales of the cuddly hounds. The Special Olympics are in three months time and they need all the support to make this a brilliant event.

Sad goldfish needs pair of armbands to swim!

Gandalf the goldfish has been fitted with arm bands because he cannot swim properly. Gandalf's worried owner made the "armbands" using a wine cork. Now Gandalf can happily go up and down his tank. Gandalf's swim bladder - the special sac the helps fish to get to different depths - does not work properly. This meant that Gandalf found it difficult to get to the surface of his tank to reach his food flakes. His owner was concerned that Gandalf could starve to death so he sliced a wine cork in half lengthways then carefully attached the pieces to his pet with an elastic band.
