9 year old Kyle Pomerleau from the United States has taught his pet fish to do special tricks with the help of his dad. Kyle bought a "finger soccer" kit from a local shop and put weights on the tiny net and ball so they would sink to the bottom of the tank Kyle fed treats to Albert the fish every time he swam towards the net. The climber had been returning to base camp at 22,000ft when she tripped and fell in the freezing weather of minus 30 degrees Celsius. She broke 2 of her fingers and could not continue the climb.

Bridget sees herself as lucky to be alive and says she was delighted that she had been given the chance to climb Everest.

Arsenal does the double

Arsenal completed a glorious double by ripping the championship title from Manchester United's grasp last night.

And, after seeing Sylvain Wiltord's 56th-minute strike leave Ferguson's men trophyless for the first time in three years, ÄA® Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, insisted that the balance of power has shifted from Old Trafford to Highbury. The Gunners needed just one point to clinch the title but managed to secure two at United's homeground, maintaining their unbeaten league away game record.

Wenger declared: "We wanted tonight to represent a shift in power - and it has. We really looked solid. United never really threatened us and once we scored the goal I think they quickly realised that they weren't going to deny us. To win the league is fantastic. Now we must do it again next year and make sure the shift in power stays with us."

Four Way Title Fight

As the Premiership season reaches its climax, it's a four-way fight for the crown, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle dreaming of Premiership glory. United are rightly still favourites, but they face stronger competition then ever before with a pacy and exciting
Arsenal side snapping at their heels and a rejuvenated, resilient Liverpool lurking on the scene along with Newcastle, still defying the odds.
Each club is proud to boast exceptional strikers - Van Nistelrooy at United, Henry at Arsenal, Owen at Liverpool and Shearer at Newcastle. However, Arsenal and Liverpool's ability to stop teams scoring and control matches could yet see them eclipse Manchester United after the final whistle sounds in May. Who are you tipping for the Premiership Crown?
Hot Shot Michael Scoops Euro Award
Liverpool striker Michael Owen has scooped another award and it's been a very happy Christmas for the 21 year old hitman. Now enjoying the New Year, Owen is really pleased that his club side Liverpool is flying high in the Premiership, as well as the fact that he has been recognised as one of the finest players in the world.
Picture of Liverpool striker Michael Owen"I'm so proud, I can't believe I've won it," he said. Meanwhile, David Beckham of Manchester United finished second in the World Footballer of the Year awards behind Luis Figo of Real Madrid.

Liverpool out of Champions League

Michael OwenLiverpool have been ousted from the Champions League after a devastating defeat at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen. Liverpool went into the match holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg but that was quickly cancelled out by Michael Ballack's wonder strike in the 16th minute. Abel Xavier equalised for Liverpool, only for the German side to pull away in the second half. Ballack got his second goal before Dimitar Berbatov put Leverkusen ahead on aggregate for the first time. There was more drama to follow with Liverpool substitute Litmanen hitting target before Lucio scored the decider in the 84th minute.

Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier said: "Our European campaign may be over but I'm proud of my players. We have played 17 games in Europe and lost twice to Barcelona and Leverkusen. These two teams are now in the semi-finals of the Champions League and it shows their quality. My only regret is that we didn't make the most of our chances. On a good day, Michael Owen could have had a hat-trick."

Golfing Ace sisters hunt the Tiger

Tiger WoodsTiger Woods, meet your biggest Irish fan… 17-year-old Irish golfing ace Karen Delaney. The schoolgirl from Oakpark, Carlow, is one half of the dynamic Delaney golfing sisters who boast handicaps that make most adult Saturday morning golfers turn green with envy. Karen plays off two while her younger sister Tara has a handicap of four.

During the summer months Karen and Tara practised for two hours a day before going out to spend another four playing 18 holes of golf. This tough regime has helped Tara slice an incredible 11 shots off her handicap in one year while Karen has also dropped steadily downwards.

"I would love to continue playing golf when finished studying and perhaps become the female equivalent of Tiger Woods," said Karen. "I hope to travel to the US to study as part of a scholarship in sport that will allow me to continue my interest in golf. I couldn't imagine doing anything else to be honest. But women should be paid the same on the professional circuit as they work just as hard."

After sensational results during the summer, the Delaney sisters would have loved to see the golfing greats at Mount Juliet this week but they couldn't get tickets and are "bitterly disappointed". Karen says her golfing idols, Tiger Woods and Ireland's Padraig Harrington, are outstanding. "Tiger is really as good as People say but for me Padraig Harrington is just so cool. He puts so much work into his golf. It's only now that he's starting to break through but he really deserves it."

Transplant man has golden touch

James Nolan has proved life can be a lot of fun and games after a kidney transplant. A butcher, amateur jockey and ex-international horse rider, 35-year-old James has just returned from the European Transplant Games where he won three medals - including a gold in the 5000m mini-marathon event.

James and seven other dialysis/ and organ recipients competed in the Games - a "phenomenal experience", - and won a collective haul of 32 medals in Budapest. Fifteen years after his life-saving transplant operation, James today appealed to members of the public to "carry a donor card and save lives." "People have the power to give the gift of life and the need is huge," said James.

James runs Nolan's Butchers in Kilcullen, Co. Kildare and had a transplant operation in 1987 using a kidney from his beloved sister, a former model. Two years after his surgery, he wore the green jacket in Switzerland for the Irish senior international three-ay event. He then switched to racing and as an amateur jockey has competed in Naas, Punchestown, Ascot and Newmarket with two big wins. However, new EU regulations now mean that anyone who had a transplant cannot now hold a licence to race. But James biggest achievement is the €500,000 raised for the Punchestown Kidney Research Project which he founded in 1990.
