The
theme of this year’s MiWadi Cultural Awards
– ‘Publish Your Winning Local Newspaper’
– which was run in conjunction with the Irish
Examiner, invited senior primary school children
to create a fun newspaper that is packed full of
stories, reports, photographs and drawings
detailing local news and history, as well as
interviews and features with people from their
area. The awards are designed by MiWadi to work
directly in combination with the Primary School
Curriculum and offer primary school pupils an
innovative way, fun and creative way in which to
explore the diverse culture and social fabric of
their locality.
